4.1 Analysis of E.coli strains for
bacteriocin production:-
In
this study we start our work with the collection of samples of E.coli and grown
on MacConkey ager. We collect the 20 samples of different strains of E.coli by
streaking of single colony on a MacConkey ager medium to obtained a pure
culture. And analyze that which strain of E.coli produced bacteriocin and which
acquired resistance by ager overlay method.
In
this table results indicate that the strain MMBL 1 produced the bacteriocin (either
colicin or microcin) and the strains MMBL 2 or 4 cannot produce. The strains
MMBL 3, 5, 6 and 7 also produced bacteriocin and on the other hand the strain
MMBL 8 cannot produce. Similarly the strains MMBL 9, 11,13,14,15 and 16 can
produced but the strains MMBL 10, 12, 17 and 18 cannot produced and the strains MMBL 19 and 20 produced it.
4.2 Effect of bacteriocin on
S.aureus:-
After
bacteriocin production from E.coli strains than in the next step we check its
effect on S.aureus and this table indicates that which strains of S.aureus was
effected with bacteriocin or not and inhibition takes place in their growth.
The
bacteriocin fromstrain of MMBL1 causes effect on MMBLS1 strain of S.aureus and
inhibition occur. Similarly the bacteriocin of strain of MMBL 6 & 7 has
effect on S.aureus. In the same way MMBL 3, 5, 9 & 11 has no effect while
MMBL 13,14,15,19 & 20 has effect on S. aureus.
